SAMPLE CLASSES OFFERED BY C.A.T.S.

KIDS PERFORMANCE WORSHOPS

This class prepares students for a public performance as they work on bringing characters alive for an audience. Students work on movement, voice and drama skills as they put together a presentation for family friends and the public. Agents do scout our workshop productions.

"BEAUTY AND THE BEAST"

Students will explore creativity through movement, voice, and imagination in a safe, non-competitive environment as they work together to stage a production of “Beauty and the Beast.” All students are cast in a speaking part and will experience the thrill of performing before an audience. Classes end with a performance for family and friends.

GREASE IS THE WORD!
MUSICAL THEATRE WORKSHOPS

Using songs and dance numbers from the timeless Broadway and film hit “Grease!” we will rehearse ensemble and solo pieces to present in a showcase performance for family and friends at the end of the session.

PLEASE NOTE - this is NOT the play "Grease", but a musical revue of songs and dances.

COMMERCIAL/FILM ACTING WORKSHOP
Do you dream of being on TV or the big screen? This class focuses on the secrets and differences of acting for the camera while covering screen acting, television acting, commercials, and most of all, what it takes to make it! Students will be filmed at the first several classes and will receive a DVD of class work at the last class. $5 material fee due to instructor first day of class.
Some of Roxanne's students' RECENT credits include: Two and a Half Men, Knocked Up, Cheeta Girls II, Zoey 101 and My Name is Earl, as well as national commercials for Kentucky Fried Chicken, Cingular Wireless, Sprite and others.

TINY TOT ACTING TROUPE
Preschoolers are introduced to the world of theatre as they perform plays based on storybooks and fairytales for family and friends at the last class.

About C.A.T.S
When Roxanne Diesel decided to begin teaching youth drama classes in 1991, she had a dream of providing safe, non-competitive performance opportunities for young people through live theatre. A pilot program conducted in a small community of Western North Carolina was an enormous success and led Roxanne to begin developing programs for all ages.

Today the original dream continues to grow here in California with quality programs being offered all over Ventura County and Northern Los Angeles County in the Antelope Valley. Roxanne works with local recreation districts to keep class fees affordable for families.

C.A.T.S. classes and summer camp opportunities offer young people the opportunity to explore theatre through the study of acting, movement, and music/voice. Although a number of Roxanne’s former students have gone on to be seen on stage, film and television, many of them are active in local theatre and are “stars” in their own communities. Some of Roxanne's students' Recent credits include: Two and a Half Men, Knocked Up, Cheeta Girls II, Zoey 101 and My Name is Earl as well as national commercials for Kentucky Fried Chicken, Cingular Wireless, Sprite and others.

Following the belief that positive, safe exposure and experiences for youth through acting is a strong self-esteem builder, every student has the opportunity to become a “star.” C.A.T.S. encourages students to go beyond their perceived limitations to find that place of play and magic that resides in all of us. All students enrolled in classes or summer camps will participate in the C.A.T.S. Showcase Performance. Our C.A.T.S. staff members are highly qualified and experienced in the fields of drama, dance and music.

If your child dreams of being on stage, start that dream today by enrolling in a C.A.T.S. class. Please call Roxanne for more information on classes, summer camps and other locations in Ventura and Los Angeles Counties.
